Fast Learner

This could very easily be described as a quality, however I feel I have gained this skill through focus and hard work. There are many times in my life where I have been required to be a fast learner. I have received session auditions at very short notice and have had to learn material almost overnight in order to secure the position. During the early years of my musical career I found this quite challenging, however I have gradually learnt how to organize my time, break down the learning process and retain certain information in order to complete a task in a short period of time. When the option is available, I will always give as much time towards a task as I can, however this skill is very useful for the instances when this is not possible.

professional, experienced & entertaining live Performer

I have been performing music live for 14 years. In that time have developed my live shows to a standard that I am very proud of. I have always found live music to be very captivating, emotive and entertaining, so I try to incorporate a lot of different elements into my performances. I always put as much practice and preparation as possible into the shows I perform, ensuring that I go into each one with all my material well rehearsed, the show structure learned and nothing left up to chance. As well as this, I always come prepared for any eventuality, with all the equipment I require and back-up plans for all foreseeable setbacks. As important as all these professional measures are to ensuring my performances are a success, I always make sure that the musicality isn't affected in any way. I will lose myself in my performances, creating a visually and aurally captivating spectacle. People who have seen me perform live both solo and as part of a group have commended me on my ability to control a crowd, engage with the music and put on a show.

Dedicated & reliable

Being reliable is in my opinion, a very underrated quality in a musician. With my use of time-keeping, time-management and organisation, I strive to be someone that employers and fellow musicians know can be trusted to show up when it is required of them, complete any task they accept to the best of their ability and maintain a consistent level of effort throughout the duration of the task at hand. Working with other musicians both in and out of University has shown me how important these qualities are and I have been told on multiple occasions that my punctuation and preparedness has made me stand out as musician and employee.

Passionate

As I stated in my bio, I have always been incredibly driven towards a career in the music industry. When it comes to any of my musical contributions, I always put a lot of thought, energy and passion into what I create and take pride in everything I do. This is in no way blind ambition; from very early on I have been aware of how much hard work, planning and innovation is required to achieve this goal. My passion gives me the drive I need to keep going no matter what difficulties I'm faced with.

People Person

I take great pride in my ability to work well with others and I put a lot of this down to the way I present myself. I enjoy being around people and have no issues working closely with another person for long periods of time. I adapt well to my surroundings and very rarely find myself in a position where I feel I cannot work with someone. I have worked with many people over the course of my musical career and the people I have asked all told me that they found me very easy to work with and that I can maintain a professional aura whilst also being approachable and fun.
